Crispy Onions

  • 1 large Spanish onion,thinly sliced and cut into half-moons
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 3 Tbs sugar
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt plus a pinch,divided
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • pinch coarse black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • oil for frying



Step 1

In a medium bowl,combine vinegar,sugar,and pinch salt. Add onion,marinate for 15 min.
In a shallow bowl,combine flour,1/2 tsp salt,pepper and paprika. Dredge marinated onion strips in flour mixture. Heat oil in a deep fryer or saucepan to 350 F. Add onion strips and fry until crispy about 3 min.
