Ingredients

  • 1 C. Sugar
  • 1 (16 oz.) can Sour Cherries
  • 1 T. Butter
  • 1 C. Sugar
  • 1 C. Flour
  • 1/2 t. Salt
  • 2 t. Baking Powder
  • 2/3 C. Milk

Preparation

Step 1

1. Combine Sugar, Cherries (including Juice) and Butter. Heat on low temperature until Sugar dissolves.

2. Sift remaining cup of Sugar,Flour, Salt and Baking Powder. Add Milk and Mix well.

3. Pour batter into greased and floured 9 1/4" x 5 1/4" x 2 3/4" Loaf Pan. Pour Cherry mixture over batter. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven, for 45 minutes. Serve with Ice Cream, Whipped Cream or Milk. Cherries sink to the bottom!
