Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 3 T granulated sugar
  • 3 c flour
  • 1/2 tsp orange flavor
  • 1/2 c powdered sugar (with egg mixture)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 T butter
  • 1 tsp almond flavor

Preparation

Step 1

Beat eggs lightly, add granulated sugar, salt & flavoring, blend thoroughly. Place flour on board. Cut in butter and add egg mixture. Knead until smooth ball is obtained. If dough is too soft, add a little more flour to firm up, but not too hard a ball. Set aside for 30 minutes.

Roll out thin and shape into strips. Knot them into ribbon shapes and deep fry until golden. Shake confectionary sugar over or dip in honey and place onto wax paper. If using honey, dilute with a little water and heat until warmed.
