  • 2-4 Bell Peppers
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups white rice
  • 1 jar tomato sauce
  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms optional
  • 8 oz Mozzarella Cheese grated
  • 2 tsp garlic powder or minced garlic
  • 1 lbs ground beef

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Using a rice cooker make two cups white rice and set aside. Brown the ground meat on the stove top and drain the fat. Now season to taste and stir in some chopped mushrooms if desired. Now stir in the cooked white rice to the meat. Add about 1/2 jar of the tomato sauce and mix well. Cut the core out of the peppers and clean the seeds out. Now you need to assemble the peppers. Place a small amount of cheese in the bottom of the pepper and spoon in some of the meat/rice mix. Pack down. Add another layer of cheese and more meat. Put a spoon of tomato sauce in the well left on the very top of the pepper and top of with more cheese. In a shallow baking dish put some water and stand the pepper up in the dish.
Place in the oven and bake for about 35 minutes. When the cheese is browned and the top of the pepper looks puckered they are done.
