Ingredients
- 1/2 C soy sauce
- 2 TBL lemon juice
- 1 TBL cornstarch
- 1 TBL firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 2 TBL vegie oil, divided
- 2 LB top sirloin, sliced 1/2" thick
- 1 med onion, thinly sliced
- 2 med heads broccoli
- 2 tsp grated fresh gingerroot
Preparation
Step 1
in sm. bowl, combine 1st 6 ingredients (through black pepper)
set aside
hat 1 TBL vegie oil in lg. skillet or wok over med-high heat.
add beef & stir-fry until almost cooked through, abt 2 min
transfer beef to plate & cover to keep warm
heat remaining oil in skillet
add onion & stir-fry for 5 min
cut broccoli into florets (should yield abt 4 C)
add to skillet w/ 1/2 C water
bring to boil, cover, reduce heat & simmer 3 min
return beef to skillet w/ sou\y sauce mixture
add ginger
bring to boil & cook, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens, abt 2 min
serve hot over rice
FOR A DIFFERENT TASTE, USE 1/2 C black bean sauce instead of soy sauce in step 1. Top finished dish w/ toasted sesame seeds
