    beef brisket (4-5 pounds)

  • 1

    package onion soup mix (Make A Mix)

  • 2

    Tbsp water

  • pepper to taste

  • small boiling onions (optional)

  • fresh mushrooms (optional)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350. Lay brisket on 2 large sheets of heavy foil. Sprinkle with soup mix, water, salt and pepper. Place onions and mushrooms on top of meat. Fold up sides of foil and seal closed. Bake 1 hour. Reduce heat to 250 and bake 9 hours for 5 pound roast, or 5-6 hours for a 3-4 pound roast. Meat should be tender when pierced with a fork. Unwrap meat, pour juice, onions and mushroom on a platter. Slice meat and place on platter.
