Ingredients

    lbs. sirloin steak

  • 1/4

    cup salad oil

  • 1

    cup water

  • 1

    medium onion, cut in 1/4 slices

  • 1/2

    tsp garlic salt

  • 1/4

    tsp ginger

  • 2

    medium green peppers, cut into strips

  • cooked rice

  • 1

    tbs. corn starch

  • 2 to 3

    tbs. soy sauce

  • 1

    can tomatoes

Directions

Trim fat from meat. Cut meat into strips. Heat oil in large skillet. Add meat, cook, turning frequently, until brown, about 5 minutes. Stir in water, onion, garlic salt and ginger. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 12 to 15 minutes. Add green pepper during last 5 minutes. Blend cornstarch, sugar and soy sauce; stir into meat mixture. Cook, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir in for 1 minute. Add drained tomatoes. Cook just until tomatoes are heated through. Serve with rice.
