Spaghetti Sauce (Susan Powter)

Ingredients

  • Olive oil spray
  • 3/4 lb leanest ground beef
  • 2 low or nonfat burgers (don't add this)
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lb mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 28oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 28oz can chopped tomatoes
  • 1 28oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried leaf oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1 Tbsp fresh Italian parsley or 2 Tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 Tbsp Nature's Seasonings
  • 1 beef bouillon cube, dissolved in 1 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

Spray large pot with olive oil and brown beef, draining fat off. Add burgers, breaking them up as they cook. Remove meat/burger mixture. Add onions, garlic and mushrooms and sweat until limp. Add remaining ingredients and meat/burger mixture. Simmer 45 minutes to 1 hour, adding water if sauce becomes to thick.
