Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped

1.Preheat the oven to 350. Prepare a 9 inch loaf pan.
2.Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and set aside.
3.Beat white sugar and butter together until creamy. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla.
4.In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the dry mixture to the creamed butter. Mix the milk into the batter until smooth.
5.Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Add half the apple and half of the cinnamon mixture.
6.Pour the remaining batter over the apples and cinnamon. Top with the leftover apples and cinnamon.
7.Bake 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
