Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/4 cups sour cream
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- FOR THE TOPPING
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 1/2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 2 tablespoons melted butter

TO MAKE THE CAKE
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Grease a two piece tube pan.
In a mixer, cream the sugar and shortening. Add remaining ingredients, except the cranberries, and beat justcuntil blended. Gently fold in cranberries.
Blend all topping ingredients together in a small bowl.
Spread half the cake batter in the bottom of the prepared Pan. Sprinkle with half the topping. Repeat layers.
Bake cake in 350 degree oven fo 45 minutes. Let cool on rack for 15-20 minutes, then remove outside of pa. Let cool completely before removing tube.
