Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 c. butter , softened
  • 5 c. peeled and sliced apples, 5-6 medium
  • Toppings: whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8x8x2" baking dish. In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour, salt and spices. With a pastry blender or two knives, cut butter into sugar mixture until crumbly. Spread apples over bottom of baking dish. Sprinkle sugar mixture over apples; pat down lightly. Bake for 50-60 minutes until the apples are tender. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
