Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups of any croutons
  • 2 cups of sharp grated cheese (or more to taste)
  • 1 1/2 lbs browned, drained breakfast sausage
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 2 1/4 cups milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 can of cream of mushroom soup diluted with 1/2 cup milk

Step 1

1. Place 2 1/2 cups of any croutons in the bottom of and 8 x 12 baking dish.

2. Top with 2 cups (or more to taste) of sharp grated cheese.

3. Place 1 1/2 lbs browned, drained breakfast sausage on top of cheese.

4. Pour 4 beaten eggs mixed with 2 1/4 cups of milk and 3/4 teaspoon of dry mustard over the above. At this point it can be refrigerated overnight.

5. Top mixture with 1 can of cream of mushroom soup diluted with 1/2 cup of milk.

6. Bake at 300 degrees about 1 1/2 hours until soft, brown and firm.
