Au Jus

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons onions
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 cup beef broth

Preparation

Step 1

In saucepan over medium heat, heat oil. Add onions, garlic and dry herbs and cook, stirring often for 1 minute. Do not let garlic get brown.

Add red wine, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Increase heat, bring to a simmer and let liquid reduce by half.

Add beef broth and simmer for 5 minutes.

Serve in individual bowls.
