Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 pounds beef stew meat or cubes, trimmed of excess fat
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup low sodium beef broth
  • 2 cups red wine (or use red grape juice with a splash of vinegar

Preparation

Step 1

Sprinkle beef cubes with cornstarch, salt and pepper. Toss to coat. Place beef cubes and onions in slow cooker. Combine beef broth and wine; pour over beef cubes. Cover and cook on Low for about 10 hours, or until beef is cooked through.

SERVING SUGGESTION: Mashed russet potatoes and steamed broccoli.
