German Potatoe Salad

This is an authentic German recipe.

Ingredients

  • 5 lbs red potatoes (boil in skins, cool and slice paper thin)
  • 1 bouillon cube (boiled in 1/2 cup water)
  • 1/2 lb bacon (cut in little pieces and fry crisp: dry on paper towel)
  • 1 small onion, cut up finely
  • 5-6 T vinegar
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • dill weed to taste (use on top)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all ingredients together.
Let set in refrigerator overnight.
Check in the morning to see if additional flavorings are needed. Add as desired.
Warm in microwave before serving.
