This is Michael's favorite. Easy to make, just make sure to use a quality cut of beef and you will love this dish too.

Ingredients

  • 2 TBLS Olive Oil
  • 2 lbs Beef Sirloin Tip (cut to 1" cubes)
  • 1 can (10 1/2 oz) Beef Consomme
  • 1/3 Red Burgundy Wine
  • 2 TBLS Soy Sauce
  • 1 Garlic Clove (minced)
  • 1/4 tsp Onion Salt
  • 2 TBLS Cornstarch
  • 1/4 C Water
  • 4 C White Rice (cooked)

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare rice:
Heat 2 C salted water to a boil add 1 cup white rice, cover and let cook. Reduce heat to a simmer. Rice is done when liquid to fully absorbed. Remove from heat and begin preparing beef.

Heat olive oil in large saute pan. Add beef and brown on all sides. Stir in consomme, wine, soy sauce, garlic and onion salt. Check meat to see if tender, if not bring to a boil and simmer approx. 1 hour (If you use quality meat it will be tender when you taste it and only take a few minutes to be finished). Mix cornstarch with cold water to a thin paste. Stir into beef until sauce is thickened. Serve over rice.

Serve with nice green salad. Yummy
