Bacon Quiche

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 slices cooked bacon, finely chopped or 1/4 cup chopped cooked ham
  • 1 1/2 cups milk (or half and half)
  • 8 ounces shredded Cheddar
  • 1/2 cup self-rising flour

Preparation time 15mins
Cooking time 60mins


Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 F. In a small bowl whisk together the milk, eggs, salt and pepper. In a large mixing bowl place flour, bacon, cheese and onion. Stir and toss until all ingredients are separated and coated in flour. Pour egg and milk mixture into the dry ingredients bowl. Stir until combined. Pour into a greased quiche plate or pie pan. 

Bake in the oven for 45 minutes, rotating the pan as necessary during the baking time to insure even browning. Servings: 6. 

By the way, what makes the quiche amazing is that it creates its own bottom crust while baking
