Ingredients
- 4 servings
- 2/3 cup navy beans, picked over and rinsed and soaked overnight
- 2 cups water
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp. molasses
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 2 1/2 tbsp. Splenda brown
- 3 strips thick-cut bacon, cut into 1/2" pieces
Preparation
Step 1
Combine beans and water to cover and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover partially and simmer 45 minutes to 1 hour. Drain.
Combine beans and remaining ingredients, including salt, in small bean pot.. Cover and bake at 290° for 6 hours, checking every hour or so to ensure that they don't need more water.
