Ingredients
- 1 9” deep dish frozen pie crust
- 1 Tbs. butter
- ½ cup chopped onion
- 1-1/2 cup Gruyere cheese, shredded, divided
- 1 Tbs all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 cup crumbled bacon

Preparation
Step 1
Bake pie crust at 425© F for 6-8 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350© F. Saute´ onion in butter until softened (3-4 minutes); cool slightly. Toss shredded cheese with the flour. In mixing bowl, beat eggs, cream, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Stir in ¾ cup crumbled bacon, onion and ½ cup cheese. Place 1 cup cheese in bottom of the pie crust. Pour egg mixture over; sprinkle with remaining bacon. Bake at 350© for 45 minutes or until set.
