Vin Chaud Recipe
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 1 five inch by 1/2” piece of orange zest
- 4 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 cardamom pods or 1/2 tsp ground
- 1/2 cup cognac
1 bottle red wine – fruity juicy wine *REX-GOLIATH sweet &juicy-free range red @ Meijer
Mix all ingredients in large sauce pan or crock pot. Bring to just under a simmer over lowest heat.
Do NOT allow wine to boil. It is hot enough when sugar has dissolved & pulling & lifting a spoon from wine brings up steam. If desired, strain spices.
Optional: Add 1-2 tsp. Cognac to a cup and ladle mulled wine over it.
