Ingredients

  • Biscuits:
  • 2 1/4 cups Original Bisquick® mix
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • Gravy:
  • 1 lb bulk sausage (Jimmy Dean reduced fat 12 oz)
  • 1 T olive oil (if using reduced fat sausage)
  • 4 T flour
  • salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 4 cups milk

Preparation

Step 1

Biscuits:
Heat oven to 450ºF. Stir ingredients until soft dough forms.
Turn onto surface dusted with Bisquick mix. Knead only 10 times. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut with 2 1/2-inch cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Gravy:
Brown sausage well, breaking up as small as possible. Add salt, pepper and flour, cook for 3 minutes. Add milk, all at once. Bring to a rolling boil, then turn down heat and simmer until desired thickness.
