- 1 C (Old Mill) grits
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 C boiling water

Step 1
1. Pour grits into the boiling water with salt and stir until it comes to a good boil. Lower fire. Cover and boil slowly for 20 min. Stir frequently. When ready to serve, put a small lump of butter into the grits and beat well for several minutes.
***For Cheese Grits: Cook grits as above but add cheese while the grits are hot. Use either one stick of garlic cheese (4 oz.) or mix in your own cheese to taste. simmer till mixture is smooth and creamy.
