Ingredients

Peel:
8 lemons
4 oranges
Reserve fruit for punch or garnishes
Make a syrup of the peels and
8 cups sugar
8 sticks cinnamon 3-4 inches long
18 whole cloves
8 cups of water

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all; simmer for 10 minutes then strain. Discard peels and whole spices.

To serve: For each portion mix 2 oz syrup with 5 oz Burgandy wine and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Heat to simmering; serve in preheated mug.
