Best Frosting Ever

Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon coconut rum (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Whisk flour, milk, vanilla, and coconut rum together in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely to room temperature (I just toss it in the freezer or fridge while I prepare the next step).

While the mixture is cooling, cream the butter and sugar together until all of the grainy sugary texture is completely gone. Whip in the cooled mixture. Use a stand mixture to beat together until extremely light and fluffy (like whipped cream). Frost on your favorite cooled cupcakes. Serve and enjoy!
