I have been making this for over thirty years, I don't remember where it came from. It's very simple.

Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 2/3 cup white corn syrup
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon regular salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup finely chopped pecans (roasted if you like)
- pecan halves to put on top
- 1 9 inch pie crust
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Beat eggs until lightly beaten with whisk (my original recipe says rotary beater - remember those?) Add corn syrup, melted butter, salt vanilla and pecans. Mix together. Pour into unbaked pie shell and decorate top with pecan halves. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.
Lower the heat to 325 degrees and continue baking for 30 minutes or until mixture is almost set in the middle.
