Ingredients
- Step 1---preheat oven 350°
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- cream butter sugar, sift if flour cornstarch and press into 11 x 17 jelly roll pan bake for 15 minutes. While baking begin step 2
- Step 2---300° 15 min/350° 5 minutes
- 4 eggs
- 1 TB flour
- 2 TB vanilla
- 1 pkg. coconut (8-12 oz)
- 1 pkg. brown sugar (1 lb box)
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 4 cups walnuts, very finely chopped
- Beat eggs brown sugar until light add flour baking powder vanilla and beat. Add nuts coconut. Spread over crust while still hot and Bake at 300* for 15 minutes increase heat to 350° and bake additional 5 minutes. Let cool completely.
- Step 3---topping
- 1 cube butter (1/2 cup)
- 1 pkg. powdered sugar (1 lb box)
- 1 8 oz pkg. cream cheese
- dash of flavoring (almond or vanilla)
- Mix thoroughly and spread over bars. Cut into small squares as these really are very very rich but very good.
