English Muffin Bread

This is a neat recipe. The baking soda makes really big holes in the bread, like an English Muffin. Very chewy and filling.

Ingredients

• 1 c water, 110 degrees
• 1 1/4 tsp sugar
• 1 tsp instant yeast
• 2 c bread flour
• 2 Tbsp dry milk
• 1/8 tsp baking soda
• 2/3 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

Add ingredients to bread machine and mix on dough cycle. Remove, punch down and shape into a loaf. Place in a greased loaf pan, rise again, and bake at 350 for 30 minutes, or until brown and hollow sounding.
