Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbs. light corn syrup
- Presliced french bread, crust removed
- 5 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups half and half
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. Grand Marnier (I didn't have any, so used a second teaspoon of vanilla)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter, add brown sugar and corn syrup and stir until smooth. Pour into a 9 X 13 baking dish, sprayed with Pam spray. Fit bread into dish pretty tightly. Whisk eggs, half and half, vanilla, Grand Marnier, salt together and pour over bread. Refrigerate overnight.
Next day take casserole out of fridge and let stand for an hour. Preheat oven to 350. Sprinkle casserole with a mixture of 3 Tbs. sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Melt 1/2 stick of butter and drizzle over top. Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes.
