Christmas Pie

Pie my mom made every Christmas. This is the first year, I have attempted it and it is very good.

Ingredients
- 1 envelope Knox gelatin
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/2 c sugar
- 4 Tbsp flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 3/4 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
- 1/2 c whipping cream
- 3 egg whites
- 3/4 tsp cream tarter
- 1/2 sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Mix together gelatin and cold water
Mix together sugar, flour, salt and milk. Put on fire and boil 1 minute, then and then add gelatin. Set to cool. When partly set, whip until smooth. Add the vanilla and almond.
Whip cream by itself.
Whip egg whites, add cream of tarter and then sugar. Beat like meringue.
Fold cream and filling into egg whites. Add 12 cup coconut, 1 /3 cup marschino cherries, cut fine and drained well.
Put into 10 inch baked pie shell. Chill 2 hours
