Ingredients

  • cup shortening

  • 2

    cup sugar

  • 2

    eggs

  • ½

    cup molasses

  • 4

    cup flour

  • 1

    teaspoon salt

  • 4

    teaspoon baking soda

  • ½

    teaspoon cloves

  • 2

    teaspoon ginger

Directions

Cream shortening and baking soda until smooth. Add egg and molasses and blend well. Sift dry ingredients together and add it one cup at a time. Roll dough into balls the size of a measured 1/2 teaspoon of dough. Roll in granulated sugar and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
