- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 lemon & peel
- salt (about 1/4 tsp)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 2 shots of brandy
- 6 hard bosc pears
Core pear from bottom and remove seeds
Peel skin carefully and leave the stem attached
Place in all ingredients in medium saucepan and heat to simmer to dissolve sugar
Add pears and simmer slowly until pears are soft (a few hours)
Turn the pears occasionally throughout cooking
Serve pears with vanilla ice cream.
Place pear in bowl. Let sit for a minute add ice cream and drizzle sauce on top.
