Ingredients

  • 1/2 gal. apple cider
  • 2/3 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 tbsp. grated orange rind
  • 1 tbsp. grated lemon rind
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 c. apple brandy or Captain Morgan's spiced rum
  • Orange or lemon slices
  • Cinnamon sticks

Preparation

Step 1

1. Combine apple cider, brown sugar, butter, orange and lemon rinds, cinnamon and nutmeg in large saucepan. Heat slowly, stirring constantly until mixture just comes to a boil, but do not boil.

2. Carefully pour mixture into heat proof punch bowl; stir in brandy or rum. Garnish with orange or lemon slices.

3. Serve in warmed mugs with cinnamon stocks. Makes 20 servings.
