  • Ditch your same-old seasoning blend and try this versatile mix instead, which can be used on anything from baby-back ribs and pork tenderloin to bone-in chicken pieces, salmon and onions.
  • 6 tablespoon(s) chili powder
  • 2 tablespoon(s) ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon(s) dried oregano
  • 1.5 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
  • Kosher salt

Preparation

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, cumin, oregano, cinnamon and 1½ tsp salt.

Pat about 2 tablespoons into each pound of meat, fish or vegetables. For extra flavor, refrigerate for a few hours before cooking. Yields 1/2 cup.

The rub can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 months.
