BANANA CAKE

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk with dash of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cup ripe bananas (~3)

Preparation

Step 1

In first bowl, cream shortening and sugar and add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.

In second bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder.

In third bowl add sour milk to bananas and vanilla.

Add contents of bowl two and three alternately into bowl one and mix until well blended, but don't over mix.

Pour into greased and floured pans.

Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Remove from pans immediately after baking.
