Ingredients
- The key to a tasty ambrosia is to completely remove the pith from the orange sections.
- 9 navel oranges
- 2 (20 oz.) cans pineapple chunks, drained
- 1 c. honey
- 1 c. sweetened flaked coconut
- 1-2 tsp. almond extract
- Garnish: stemmed maraschino cherries
Preparation
Step 1
1. To section an orange, first peel it with a paring knife and be sure to remove the white pith. Holding fruit over a bowl to cath juices, slice between membrane and one orange segment, then, life the segment out with the knife blade. Repeat with all oranges.
2. Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl and stir gently; cover and chill at least 8 hours.
3. Place ambrosia in individual crystal dessert dishes, if desired. Garnish each with a maraschino cherry.
