This Grandma's Favorite Pie Crust

By

This is the easiest and best pie crust ever! No rolling involved. Especially good with berry and fruit pies and cream pies. Did I forget a pie? Don't skip over the two times you need to let the crust sit and rest. You won't be sorry!

Ingredients

  • 1-3/4 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 6 tablespoons Butter
  • 3 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 6 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 Egg

Preparation

Step 1

Mix the flour and butter until well blended. Add the baking powder and sugar stirring until well blended.

In a separate bowl, mix together the egg and vanilla. Add to the flour mixture and stir until completely blended.

Let the crust dough sit on the counter for about 30 minutes.

Place about half of the mixture into your pie plate and spread it out over the bottom and sides. Poke holes in the bottom with a fork. Set it aside and let the pie crust rest for another 30 minutes.

If you are prebaking for a cream pie, bake at 400 degrees for about 12-15 minutes, or until it turns brownish.

If you are using your crust for a fruit pie, follow the instructions for your fruit pie and bake as directed.

Enjoy!
