Black and White cupcakes

Ingredients

  • 1 package vanilla cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare mix
  • 2/3 cup semi sweet chocolate chips, melted
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup prepared vanilla frosting
  • 1 cup prepared chocolate frosting

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350°. Line 24 muffin pan cups with paper baking cups.

2. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Reserve half of batter (about 2 1/2 cups) in medium bowl. Add melted chocolate and cream cheese to remaining batter; beat with electric mixer at medium speed about 2 minutes or until smooth and well blended.

3. Spoon chocolate and vanilla batter side by side into prepared muffin cups, filling about 2/3 full.

4. Bake about 16 minutes or until toothpick inserted into centers comes out clean. Cool cupcakes in pans 10 minutes; remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.

5. Spread vanilla frosting over chocolate half of each cupcake; spread chocolate frosting over vanilla half of each cupcake.
