Ingredients

  • 1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup half-and-half
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups 10X (confectioners') sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Combine brown sugar, butter and half-and-half in medium-size saucepan. Bring to boiling over medium heat; boil 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove saucepan from heat. Stir in vanilla. Cool to lukewarm.

Beat mixutre with electric mixer, gradually adding 10x sugar until good spreading consistency. (Mixture will thicken on standing)
