Ingredients

  • 1

(16 1/2 - 18 ounce) roll refrigerated peanut butter cookie dough

  • 1/4

    cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/3

    cup red colored sugar

  • 40

small green gumdrops or green candy-coated milk chocolate pieces

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl stir together cookie dough and flour until combined (knead dough with hands, if necessary to combine). Shape dough into 40 about 1-inch balls. Flatten balls into 1 3/4-inch rounds. Roll in colored sugar to coat. Place rounds 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Using a sharp knife, cut six 1/2-inch slits from the edges toward the center of each round to form flower petals. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes or until centers are set and edges just start to brown. Immediately press a gumdrop into the center of each cookie. Cool on cookie sheet for 2 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack; cool. To Store: Layer cookies between sheets of waxed paper in an airtight container; cover. Store at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
