Mushroom Turnovers

  • 6-8 oz mushrooms, chopped
  • 1/4 medium onion, chopped
  • 1-2 Tblsp butter spread
  • 3/4 tsp flour
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • Pie dough for single crust pie
  • Sherry (optional)
  • Parmesan (optional)

Step 1

Roll out the pie dough and cut into four rounds, about 5-inches in diameter.

Mix all other ingredients together, then place a small amount of the mushroom mixture on one side of each dough circle. Fold over the dough to form a half-circle, and seal the edges. Turnovers may be frozen at this point.

Brush tops with a beaten egg or egg whites if desired.

Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees, or until golden brown. If frozen, expect to add an extra 5 minutes to the cooking time.
