- 1
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 Tablespoons A-1 or other steak sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup brown sugar -- packed
- 4 Tablespoons margarine
- 3 pounds chicken pieces
Preparation
Step 1
Stir everything in a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat until the butter is melted. Bring the glaze to a simmer and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
Preheat oven to 300. Line pan with foil.
Place chicken skin side down, in a single layer, in the pan and paint each piece with glaze. Bake for 1/2 hour. Turn the pieces of chicken over and pain them again. You'll keep them skin side up from now on. Bake the chicken for 2 to 2 1/2 hours more, basting frequently - perhaps every 10 minutes. If the glaze gets used up, you can switch to basting the chicken with the pan juices. After 2 1/2 hours (including the 1/2 hour in which the chicken was upside down), test for doneness. The chicken should be practically falling off the bone.
