Ingredients
- 14 uncooked manicotti shells
- (or jumbo pasta shells--which
- are easier to stuff)
- 1 lb bulk italian sausage
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 package (3 oz) cream cheese
- 4 c meatless spaghetti sauce
- 1/4 c grated parmesan cheese
- **optional--to make this dish go a bit further, you can mix 1 lb hamburger in to the sausage & double your shells & cream cheese quantities
Preparation
Step 1
cook manicotti shells according to package directions
meanwhile, in a large skillet cook the meat and garlic over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink--drain. remove from heat.
drain shells and rinse in cold water. stir the mozzarella, cream cheese and salt in to meat mixture. spread 2 c spaghetti sauce into a greased 9x13 baking dish.
stuff each shell with about 1/4 c meat mixture, arrange over sauce. pour the remaining sauce over the top and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
cover & bake at 350 for 40 minutes--uncover and bake for 5-10 minutes longer or until bubbly and heated through
