  • 6 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • Ingredients for Topping
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats (not instant or quick cooking)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose white flour
  • 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons cold, unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

Preparation of Filling
1. Place the blueberries in a large bowl.
2. Add sugar and flour.
3. Place the mixture in an 8-inch square baking dish and sprinkle with lemon juice.
Preparation of Topping
1. In a large bowl, combine oats, white and whole wheat flours,sugar, and cinnamon. Blend together using your hands or a fork.
2. Work in the butter using a fork or the tips of your fingers until it is evenly distributed.
3. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the filling.
Bake the crumble at 375" for 30 minutes until the fruit is bubbling and the topping is lightly browned. Let it sit 20 minutes and serve warm.
