Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts

Preparation

Step 1

Melt chocolate in double boiler.

In a medium sized bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

In a large bowl, cream butter, sugars, and peanut butter. Mix in melted chocolate. Beat in eggs. Stir in flour mixture. Fold in chips and peanuts.

Roll dough in a 4 inch diameter log. Dough will be sticky. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. When ready to bake, slice into 1/4 inch slices and quarter each piece. Bake in 350 oven on greased cookie sheet 1 inch apart. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Cookies will spread and feel like cake to the touch.
