Ingredients
- 11 1/2 ozs. Milk Choc. morsels (2 cups)
- 2 tbsp. vegetable shortening
- 14 oz, bag Kraft caramels
- 5 tbsp. margarine
- 2 tbsp. water
- 1 cup coarsley chopped nuts
Preparation
Step 1
Melt over hot water (not boiling), chocolate and shortening. Stir until melted mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. Pour 1/2 of the chocolate into 8" foil lined square pan, spread evenly. Refrigerate until firm (15 min.) Return remaining chocolate to low heat. Comgine over boiling water, caramels, butter and water. Stir until caramels melt and mixture is smooth. Stir in nuts until well blended. Pour onto chocolate lined pan. Spread evenly. Refrigerate until tacky, about 15 minutes. Top with remaining melted chocolate. Spread evenly to cover caramel filling. Return to refrigerator and chill until firm, about 1 hour. Cut into 1" squares and refrigerate.
