Wilton Royal Icing

This is Wilton's recipe, used for icing cookies or making decorations on cakes. NOT for icing a cake because it dries hard. Put your nonpariels on it quickly, because in a few minutes, it will be too dry to add them.

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp Wilton Meringue Powder
  • 1 lb. confectioner's sugar (4c)
  • 6 Tbsp water (or 5 for really stiff icing)

Preparation

Step 1

Beat all ingredients until stiff peaks form. 7-10 minutes on low for the Kitchen-Aid mixer, and 10-12 for a hand-held mixer.
