Ingredients
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup margarine or butter -- at room temperature
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs -- at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk or soy milk
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour two 8 or 9 inch round or one 9 x 13 inch pan.
Whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
Beat the butter and sugar together until well blended. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat well. Scrape the bowl and beater.
Alternately add the flour mixture with the milk while the mixer is on low speed. Beat until thoroughly incorporated.
Divide the batter between the pans and bake 30-35 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. Cool on wire rack about 10 minutes. Then remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
