Ingredients
- 2-8oz. cans of Whole Oysters & their reserved liquor (YES..of course you can harvest your own, and/or buy them fresh)
- 1/2 cup of Flour
- 1/2 cup of Corn Meal
- 1 beaten Egg
- 1 pinch of Salt & Sugar
- Old Bay for sprinkling..optional, but come on now!
- Butter for melting/dipping
- Oil for frying..I used Canola.
Preparation
Step 1
Drain the Oysters and reserve the Liquor.
Make the batter: In a medium bowl mix the Oyster Liquor, Flour, Corn Meal, Sugar and Salt together until smooth. Beat the egg and stir it into the batter until combined…
In a medium pot heat up approx. 2″ of oil to 350.
Evenly coat the oysters in the Batter in batches of 4-6 and fry them up…
Drain them on some Paper Towel..And sprinkle them with Old Bay while they’re warm Serve them up with some warm Melted Butter
