Ingredients
- 1 9" two crust pie shell -- unbaked
- 3/4 to 1 cup sugar
- 2 Tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Salt
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg -- optional;
- 6 to 7 cups apples -- peeled and sliced
- 2 Tablespoons margarine -- cut into pieces
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425. In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. Toss apples with sugar mixture. Spoon apple mixture into pie shell. Dot with bits of margarine.
Place top crust over pie and flute edges of pastry. Cut several vents to let steam escape. Bake for 50 min. or until crust is browned and apples are tender. Cool.
