Gumdrop Cookies

Brown Sugar drop cookies studded with candy gems!

Another from the Betty Crocker pamplet in the sack of flour.

Ingredients

• 1 cup soft shortening
• 2 cups brown sugar (packed)
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 cup sour milk, buttermilk or water
• 3 1/2 cups sifted flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 3-4 cups cut-up gumdrops

Preparation

Step 1

Mix shortening, brown sugar, eggs. Stir in sour milk. Sift dry ingredients together and stir in. Mix in gumdrops. Chill at least 1 hour.

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls aobut 2" apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until set.
